KATHLEEN YURCHAK: When the decision is made for our parents or loved ones to enter into a nursing home, we want to make sure they're taken care of. We, in many cases, pay the nursing home a lot of money to make sure that our parents are taken care of, and when they're not, we need to find out why.

We need to find out if they're understaffed. We need to find out if someone wasn't paying attention that day. We need to find out if they violated federal or state requirements.

One of the things that we're finding is that these nursing homes may find themselves under funded because the government is cutting back on what they're providing, understaffed or simply not experienced to handle certain types of medical care.

Some of the common injuries that we see in the nursing homes are broken bones. You fall out of bed, you call a staff member and the staff member doesn't respond.

If you think that the nursing home is responsible for injury to your loved one in a nursing home or someone in a nursing home dies due to negligent care, our law firm is experienced in handling those cases.
